REAL NAME: Dexter John Stewart

CAREER:                                   Blaxx grew up in Point Fortin, Penal, and Siparia, in south Trinidad, and then Morvant in the north. He began singing when he was thirteen years old when his father, Jerry Stewart, who was a musician and founded the band "Jerry and New School," worked with his development as a singer. His mother was a singer who wrote his first calypso. He later entered the South Vocal Talent competition and called himself The Mighty Hot Chocolate. His first big song, Dutty, was released in 2007 and he was always focused on achieving the Soca Monarch award. While making a living as a mechanic, he joined the famous band Fucceccion where he was known as Blaxx for a long time. He later joined several different groups, including Atlantic, Byron Lee and The Dragonaires, and Blue Ventures. He met Roy Cape in 1999 and was invited to join Roy Cape All Stars. He later had his own band, D'All Starz. Blaxx was mentored by well-known local artists including Ronnie McIntosh, Esther Dyer, Destra Garcia, and Olatunji Yearwood. His last public appearance was as a guest performer at the Dimanche Gras showcase on February 27, 2022, at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain. Blaxx's calypsoes included:

DIED: March 28, 2022, from health complications related to Covid-19 at the Arima General Hospital, Trinidad.
