Cunupia
The village of Cunupia is located in the midst of fields of sugar cane and can be accessed by the Uriah Butler Highway, south of El Socorro. Cocoa was also grown in the area but, by the 1990s, the world demand for sugar and cocoa had declined and Cunupia's residents were forced to seek a living elsewhere, from Port-of-Spain in the north to Chaguanas in the south.
