Specializing in a genre of music called "rapso," this singing trio (Wendell Manwarren, Roger Roberts, and Stanton Kevely) burst onto the Trinidad & Tobago music scene in 1997 with its album "The Book of Blue." Other albums released by the band since then were "A Rakak Kie Bonay" (1998) and "The Fire Next Time" (1999). In addition to performing extensively in Trinidad, Canal-3 made international appearances in: London, England (August 1999); Valencia, Venezuela (October 1999); and Ocho Rios, Jamaica (November 1999). Canal-3 has copped many awards including:
  • 1998 - Best Rapso, Sunshine Music Awards, New York, USA (for "Blue"); Best Rapso, Trinidad & Tobago Music Awards (for "Mud Madness")
  • 1999 - Best Rapso, Sunshine Music Awards, New York, USA (for "Mud Madness"); Best Rapso, Trinidad & Tobago Music Awards (for "Talk Yuh Talk"); Best Group Performance, Trinidad & Tobago Music Awards (for "Talk Yuh Talk"); Best Video, Trinidad & Tobago Music Awards (for "Black Attack")
