CAREER:                                 Ammon began playing mas with Harold Saldenah in the early-1950s before leaving in 1955 to form his own band. Edmond Hart left Saldenah's band the same year to join Ammon's band and eventually took control of the band when Ammon resigned from the leadership prior to the 1961 Carnival. Ammon shared the Band-of-the-Year title in 1958 with Harold Saldenah's band, and combined with Wayne Berkeley to win the title again in 1973.
