CAREER:                                 Dumbell started her dance career at the age of three with a charitable performance at Government House. She was the founder of Thora Dumbell's School of Dance in 1950 which she operated until 1978. She was heavily involved in the performing arts over the years, continuing classes until the 2000s. She was a judge at children's carnival shows, and was considered a judge extraordinaire in the field of Children's Carnival according to the Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross Society. She was also a judge at Easter Bonnet Parades. In 1966, she organised a rally of 6,000 children at the Queen's Park Oval for Queen Elizabeth II visit. She did the same for Indira Ghandi in 1968, as well as for the Pope in 1985. She appeared in two movies: the first was a British movie at 8 years of age, then in the Warner Brother movie New Faces of 1936 at 11 years old.
