CAREER: Phillips coached the Howard University (Washington DC, USA) soccer team from 1970 to 1980 and won two NCAA Division I Championships in 1971 and 1974 by defeating St Louis University of Missouri 3-2 and 2-1 (4OT), respectively. However, the 1971 championship was later vacated. In 1996, he published the book "Soccer Goalkeeping: The Last Line of Defense, the First Line of Attack," and, in 2004, he was appointed Technical Director of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation. In 2016, he publised his autobiography in "Rising Above and Beyond the Crossbar." His career includes the following significant accomplishments:
